Show two pictures: a plain ball vs. a big, red, shiny ball. Ask: 'Which description is more interesting? Why?'

  • Present sentence: 'The dog is playing.'

  • Ask: 'What kind of dog? Is it big or small? What color?'

  • Improve the sentence: 'The big, brown dog is playing.'

  • Explain: 'Big' and 'brown' are adjectives - they describe the dog

    • blue sky (describes color)
    • round ball (describes shape)
    • three cats (describes number)
    • happy girl (describes feeling)
